Farid Alibi: Disarming the Resistance and Installing a Technocratic Government Are the Core of the U.S.-Israeli Plan for Gaza [Video]

In a statement to Tunisie Numérique, political analyst and thinker Farid Alibi commented on the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, following U.S. President Donald Trump’s move to implement the second phase of his so-called peace plan. This phase includes the establishment of a technocratic government and pressure on Hamas to surrender its weapons, marking what Washington describes as a transition from active warfare to a stage of “de-escalation.”

    From Ceasefire to “Stabilization”

Alibi explained that the second phase is presented as a shift from military confrontation to calm, after the first phase focused on a ceasefire, prisoner exchanges, and the entry of humanitarian aid. However, he stressed that the first phase itself was never fully implemented, as Israeli strikes have continued, Palestinian leaders were targeted, and the flow of aid remained below what had been promised.

    Disarmament and Technocratic Rule

According to Alibi, the core of the U.S.-Israeli strategy lies in two main objectives: the disarmament of Hamas and other resistance factions, and the creation of a technocratic government in Gaza. This cabinet, composed of 15 ministers and headed by Ali Shaath, would be responsible for security and administration, while exclusive control of weapons would be removed from the resistance and placed under this new authority.

    A Plan Serving Strategic Interests

Alibi argued that Washington and Tel Aviv consider the disarmament of the resistance and the exclusion of Hamas from governing Gaza as their top priority. He noted that this technocratic government would not operate independently, but rather under the direction of a “Peace Council” chaired by President Trump himself, which would effectively supervise political and security decisions in the enclave.

    A Vision Questioned by Analysts

In Alibi’s view, the American plan does not aim to genuinely serve Palestinian interests or to end Gaza’s suffering, but rather to neutralize the armed resistance and place the territory under Israeli and American influence. He recalled Trump’s statement about turning Gaza into a “Riviera of the Middle East,” considering it proof that the project is driven more by geopolitical and economic calculations than by concern for the rights and aspirations of the Palestinian people.
