FC Barcelona officially confirmed today, Wednesday, the signing of goalkeeper Joan García, who has played in recent seasons for Espanyol, after activating the release clause in his contract.
The value of the release clause is set at €25 million, an operation through which the Catalan club secures the signing of the 24-year-old goalkeeper, who was one of the standout revelations of last season in La Liga.
García’s signing marks the first move in the second project under German coach Hansi Flick, who led Barcelona to a domestic treble last season: La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Supercup.
