Finance Law 2026 Published in the Official Gazette After Presidential Promulgation

The Official Gazette of the Tunisian Republic (JORT), issue No. 148 released on Friday, published Law No. 17 of 2025, dated 12 December 2025, relating to the Finance Law for 2026.

The President of the Republic ordered the publication of the 2026 Finance Law in the Official Gazette after promulgating it, following its adoption by the Assembly of the Representatives of the People and the National Council of Regions and Districts.

By way of reminder, the Assembly of the Representatives of the People approved, in its entirety, the draft Finance Law and the State budget for 2026 on 4 December. For its part, the Council of Regions and Districts adopted the same text in full at dawn on 7 December 2025.

The 2026 Finance Law was then forwarded to the President of the Republic, in accordance with Article 18 of the decree governing the functioning of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People and within the scope of the President’s constitutional powers, Parliament Speaker Ibrahim Bouderbala said, noting that the version transmitted was the one approved by MPs.

During the joint closing plenary session held on 10 December bringing together members of the two legislative chambers, the Speaker explained that the joint committee between the two Councils—formed in accordance with Article 1 of the 2024 law and whose work continued over the past three days—had failed to reach consensus on a unified text regarding the disputed articles, for submission to the President of the Republic under his constitutional prerogatives.
