Taïeb Rached, the former First President of the Court of Cassation who has been relieved of his duties, appeared on Monday before the criminal chamber specializing in financial corruption cases at the Court of First Instance in Tunis.

The appearance forms part of his trial in a case in which he is accused of “bribery,” “forgery,” “possession and use of forged documents,” as well as “abuse of status as a public official,” according to the case file and the investigations conducted.
