Fiscal reforms 2026: electronic invoicing at the heart of the debate in Sfax (video)

The École supérieure de commerce de Sfax, in partnership with the UFEC-ESCS and Inoventure-FSEGS clubs, organized the 11th Chartered Accountant Day on Saturday, 17 January 2026. This scientific and professional event focused on the main developments in the financial and accounting sector, with particular attention to the 2026 Finance Law and electronic invoicing, two key pillars of Tunisia’s ongoing tax reform.

A meeting marked by the participation of leading experts

The event brought together a group of recognized experts and practitioners, namely Faïçal Derbal, Habiba El Ouaty, Mustapha Mezghani, Ilyes Gharab and Ahmed Chaabchoub. Their contributions provided participants with insights into the latest regulatory developments and the current challenges facing the accounting and financial professions.

The 2026 finance law at the heart of discussions

A significant part of the debates was devoted to an in-depth analysis of the provisions of the 2026 Finance Law. Speakers examined its impact on businesses and professionals, highlighting both the challenges it raises and the opportunities it may create in a context of rapid economic and fiscal transformation.

Electronic invoicing, a cornerstone of tax reform

The topic of electronic invoicing also featured prominently during the day. Considered one of the key tools for modernizing the tax system, it was discussed in terms of its implementation mechanisms, its expected benefits for transparency and governance, as well as the technical and organizational constraints that companies may face during the transition phase.

A forum for dialogue and exchange of expertise

Beyond the presentations, the 11th Chartered Accountant Day served as an open forum for dialogue and discussion. Participants were able to ask questions, debate the advantages and limitations of the reforms under way, and express their expectations regarding the future evolution of fiscal and accounting legislation. The event thus fits into a broader effort to strengthen interaction between chartered accountants and finance specialists and to promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices in a sector that is vital to the national economy.
