As the rainy season approaches, the Ministry of Equipment and Housing has announced the launch of a large-scale maintenance and prevention program to reduce the risks of flooding.
During a meeting held on Friday with officials from the General Directorate of Roads, Bridges and Urban Water, Minister Salah Zouari emphasized the urgency of speeding up the cleaning of hydraulic infrastructures, canals, and drainage systems.
According to official figures, more than 2,100 km of waterways and canals had already been cleared and cleaned by the end of July 2025. The operation also includes the maintenance of classified roads: removal of rubble and waste, road signage, user information, and the rehabilitation of green spaces around interchanges.
