Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, received today, Monday 2 March 2026, at the Ministry’s headquarters, Ms. Fenja Yamaguchi-Fasting, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Tunisia.
On this occasion, the Minister commended the ties of friendship uniting the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1959, which have gained renewed momentum following the working session that brought him together with his Danish counterpart on 4 June 2025 in Copenhagen, as part of a tour he undertook in Northern European countries.
The Minister stressed the need for thorough preparation for the upcoming bilateral entitlements and underscored the importance of developing cooperation in various areas of common interest, with a view to elevating relations to higher levels that reflect the two countries’ true potential. These areas include information and communication technologies and digital transformation, sustainable agriculture, advanced industries, renewable energy and the green economy, youth and women, as well as scientific, educational and cultural fields. He also highlighted the significant opportunities offered by bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, and the importance of fostering networking between business communities in both countries, particularly following the opening of a resident Danish Embassy in Tunis.
For her part, the Ambassador expressed Denmark’s keenness to further support relations of friendship and cooperation with Tunisia, both at the bilateral and multilateral levels, and conveyed her readiness to work with the relevant Tunisian authorities to explore the best ways to diversify areas of cooperation and identify new opportunities for partnership between the two countries.
