Former French President Valery Giscard d’Estaing was hospitalized Sunday evening in Tours in western France, local media announced Monday.

Giscard d’Estaing, 94, was carried by ambulance from his home to the Trousseau Hospital, Franceinfo reported.

There was no direct confirmation on the cause of the hospitalization.
