France has terminated the mission of its ambassador to Algeria, François Gouyette, who admitted to asserting his retirement rights, according to a decision published by the French Official Journal.
This measure was taken while France and Algeria are in the midst of a diplomatic crisis. Algeria has condemned the exfiltration of a Franco-Algerian activist, Amira Bouraoui.
The Algerian ambassador to Paris was recalled for consultation following this incident.
