French President Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday that “no matter what choices the Americans make, we will maintain our presence in Iraq to fight against terrorism” as long as Iraq finds it necessary. He added France has the operational capacities to assure its presence in the country.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi replied that Iraq and France are “key partners in the war against terrorism.”
