French Prime Minister Michel Barnier was overthrown on Wednesday after a no-confidence vote was successfully passed, with 331 members of Parliament voting in favor of it.
This marks the first time since 1962 that a prime minister has been overthrown with a no-confidence vote in France. Barnier also became the prime minister with the shortest-lived tenure in French history, with 90 days spent leading the government. He will resume his duties until French President Emmanuel Macron chooses his successor.
