Search operations for three fishermen from Shatt Essalem in the governorate of Gabès, who went missing after their boat capsized off Skhira last Thursday, have been suspended, according to a source from the Civil Protection who spoke to Diwan FM.
The same source explained that the decision to halt the search was taken due to severe weather conditions and strong winds affecting the coastal area of Gabès, making maritime operations too risky for the rescue teams currently deployed.
Search efforts are expected to resume in the coming hours once weather conditions improve, the source added, noting that the concerned authorities continue to monitor the situation closely while awaiting safer conditions at sea.
Meanwhile, families of the missing fishermen and local residents remain in anxious anticipation, hoping for reassuring news about their loved ones.
