According to German media reports, a car drove into a crowd in Mannheim, south of Frankfurt, wounding several people in an initial assessment.
A large police deployment has been observed, and authorities have urged residents to avoid travelling to the city centre.
This incident comes weeks after a 24-year-old Afghan man intentionally hit multiple people with his car in Munich on Thursday, February 13, injuring 28 people before being arrested by police.
