Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani dismissed reports that accused him of taking a large sum of money with him before escaping the country.
Speaking from exile in the United Arab Emirates, Ghani reemphasised that his reason for leaving was to prevent more bloodshed after the Taliban enter Afghanistan.
On Sunday, the nation’s leader reportedly left for Oman just as the Taliban encircled the capital Kabul.
