Ahmed Ben Kharrat, the Governor of Béja, visited the maternity and paediatrics department unannounced to assess the quality of healthcare services, working conditions, and overall operation.
During his visit, the governor engaged with hospital staff, listening to their concerns and requests, as Tunisie Numérique’s regional correspondent reported.
He likewise sought feedback from patients and their companions regarding the quality of care, focusing on issues such as long appointment wait times, service delays, and a shortage of medical and paramedical staff, especially in specialized fields.
The governor further examined the hospital’s surroundings, noting the existence of an unused area exceeding 4 hectares. He announced that plans are underway to expand the hospital to address these challenges and improve services.
