Greenland’s Prime Minister Mute Egede stated on Friday that he wants the Arctic island, Denmark’s autonomous territory, to become an independent state.
Speaking at a press conference, Egede stressed that “the status quo is not an option.” “We don’t want to be Danish, we don’t want to be American, we want to be Greenlandic,” he pointed out.
