Handball – CACC 2025: Espérance Defeats Widad Samara, Advances to Semifinals Against Zamalek

Following in the footsteps of ASF du Sahel in the women’s competition, Espérance Sportive de Tunis continues its strong performance at the 41st edition of the African Cup Winners’ Club Championship, held in Cairo.

In the quarterfinals, the “Blood and Gold” secured a victory this Tuesday at Al Ahly Hall 1 against their Moroccan counterparts Widad Samara, with a 34-26 (halftime lead of 17–12).

Representing Tunisia in this prestigious tournament, Espérance will now face Egypt’s Zamalek in the semifinals on Thursday. The Egyptian side qualified after a commanding 40–21 win over Ivory Coast’s Red Star.
