The Heart, Arteries and Lungs Association, in cooperation with the Tunisian Association of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery, is organizing a health caravan dedicated to cardiovascular and respiratory diseases from January 29 to 31, for the benefit of residents in several southern regions of Tunisia.
An initiative to bring healthcare closer to citizens
This humanitarian initiative is part of a broader effort to bring healthcare services closer to citizens across all regions of the country, particularly in inland areas, by facilitating access to specialized medical consultations for local populations.
Three stops in southern Tunisia
The health caravan will visit three hospitals according to the following schedule:
Thursday, January 29: local hospital of Beni Khedache (governorate of Médenine)
Friday, January 30: regional hospital of Tataouine (governorate of Tataouine)
Saturday, January 31: local hospital of Douz (governorate of Kébili)
Multidisciplinary medical consultations
The program includes mobile, multidisciplinary medical clinics covering a wide range of specialties, including:
Cardiovascular diseases
Diagnostic echography
Early screening for congenital heart defects in children
Cardiovascular surgery
Dermatology
Pediatrics and neonatology
Family medicine
Early detection of hypertension and diabetes
Early detection of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
Screening for kidney diseases
Awareness and training on early intervention
Alongside medical consultations, organizers will also hold an open awareness and training day focused on early intervention in cases of cardiac arrest, with the aim of strengthening public knowledge of life-saving first aid measures.
