The Houthi group in Yemen announced on Sunday evening the imposition of a complete air blockade on Israel, marking a new escalation in response to the Israeli government’s decision to expand its military operations in Gaza.
In a statement broadcast by its affiliated media outlets, the group urged global airlines to take the warning seriously, noting that the decision took effect immediately. The group stated, “We will enforce the blockade by repeatedly targeting Israeli airports, starting with Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv.”
The group further added, “We will not accept Israel’s continued violations of Arab nations, particularly Lebanon and Syria.”
