The Algerian Prime Minister’s Services announced that Prime Minister Sifi Ghrib, on Thursday, 5 February 2026, at the Abdelatif Rahal Convention Center in the capital, opened the proceedings of a high-level conference titled: “North Africa: Connecting Continents and Creating Opportunities”.
The conference was held in the presence of International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, IMF Middle East and Central Asia Department Director Jihad Azour, as well as Italian Minister for the Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, alongside several Algerian guests.
According to the same source, the meeting also brought together several members of the government team, in addition to the Governor of the Bank of Algeria, Moatasem Boudiaf.
