In 2025, Tunisians spent the equivalent of TND 1,403 million in foreign currency on tourism-related activity.

    Provisional figures from the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) for 2025, relating to the balance of payments, show that on the debit side—under travel-related expenditures—spending totaled 2,908.2 million dinars, including roughly the equivalent of TND 1,403 million in foreign currency spent on tourism.

    Tunisians’ tourism spending (tourist allowances) recorded a slight decline in 2024, easing from TND 1,460.8 million to TND 1,403 million.

    By way of reminder, travel services rose slightly to reach TND 2,908.2 million in 2025. It should be noted that travel services include business travel, personal travel, tourism-related services, transfers linked to stays for Hajj and Umrah, as well as education-related expenses.
