MP Abdel Razek Aouidat explained in a statement to Tunisie Numerique that the talk of the 2025 Finance Bill was conducted jointly between the House of Representatives and the House of Regions and Districts. The tasks of the different ministries were examined, and then the Finance Bill was reviewed in the presence of the Minister of Finance. The first legislative chamber spoke first, followed by the second chamber.
Aouidat noted that after the general discussion, the articles of the bill were initially approved by the House of Representatives, and the process concluded yesterday with the full approval of the Finance Bill. Today, the House of Regions and Districts starts its task, beginning with the discussion and then the approval of each article, one by one.
Concerning the possibility of disagreements in the voting between the two chambers, the deputy confirmed that a joint committee was formed between the two chambers to look into the points of disagreement and find common ground to settle the situation.
The speaker confirmed that if there is an agreement, and the approval from the House of Regions and Districts is the same as the approval from the House of Representatives, there will be no problem, and the agreement will be finalized in a joint session between both chambers. Nevertheless, if points remain unresolved and the 2025 Finance Bill is not approved, it will be referred to the President of the Republic, as approved by the House of Representatives, with the final decision resting with the President of the State.
