Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on Tuesday that the country’s law enforcement detained 147 individuals suspected of having ties with the Islamic State (IS) during the nationwide raid.
The interior minister noted that the arrested suspects are believed to have carried out activities within the “terrorist organization.” According to Yerilkaya, “a large amount of foreign currency, organizational documents, and digital materials” was seized during the raid in over 30 provinces in Turkey, including Istanbul and Antalya.
