Iran Claims Massive Hack of Israeli Nuclear Facilities

Iran says it has obtained thousands of sensitive documents related to Israeli nuclear installations, in what sources describe as one of the most significant intelligence operations ever carried out against the Jewish state, according to reports aired by Iranian state television on Friday.

The documents reportedly include confidential files, photographs, and videos concerning Israel’s nuclear sites, which are known for their extreme security and frequently mentioned in international suspicions regarding the country’s undeclared nuclear arsenal.

A Lengthy and Delicate Transfer to Iran

Iranian sources indicated that the exfiltration of the documents to Iranian territory required a considerable effort and was carried out some time ago.

However, the public announcement of the operation was deliberately delayed for security reasons, to ensure the transfer was completed without interception.

According to the initial information released, the volume of recovered data was so vast that it took several weeks to fully analyze its contents, which include high-definition images and video footage from surveillance cameras at Israeli installations.

A Major Blow to Israeli Security

If confirmed, the operation would mark a serious setback for Israeli security services, whose reputation rests in part on their ability to protect strategic facilities such as the Dimona site, often cited as the core of Israel’s nuclear program.

The revelation comes amid heightened regional tensions, as the two rival powers — Shiite Iran and Israel, a close ally of the United States — engage in proxy confrontations on multiple fronts, notably in Lebanon, Syria, and through cyber operations.

An Escalation in the Shadow War

Iran has not disclosed how or through what means the information was obtained.

However, several analysts suggest the breach could be the result of a targeted cyberattack, reminiscent of previous digital clashes between the two nations — including the 2010 Stuxnet virus attack that crippled Iranian nuclear centrifuges.

Israeli authorities have yet to issue an official response to the allegations. Nonetheless, Tel Aviv’s silence — or occasional denials in such matters — is often interpreted as a deliberate strategy to downplay the significance of a potential security breach.

This incident could further inflame regional tensions and increase diplomatic pressure, at a time when the fragile balance between nuclear deterrence, cybersecurity, and psychological warfare remains at the heart of strategic stakes in the Middle East.
