Iran: Six candidates selected for presidential elections… Ahmadinejad excluded!

The Iranian Ministry of the Interior reported on Sunday, June 9, 2024, the names of 6 candidates for the 2024 presidential election, planned for June 28, after the decision of the Guardian Council, which has the greatest power in matters of approval and exclusion of candidates.

The Iranian Guardian Council has once again excluded former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from the presidential election, while 6 presidential candidates were retained: Mostafa Pourmohammadi, Saeed Jalili, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Ali Reza Zakani, Amir Hossein Qazizadeh Hashemi and Masoud Pezeshkian.
