On October 28, the Iranian Ambassador to Tunisia, Mir Massoud Hosseinian, spoke on Mosaïque FM about Israel’s military response to the attack on October 1, 2024. He condemned the Israeli airstrikes as a breach of Iranian sovereignty and international law, describing the strikes as a “grave strategic error.” Hosseinian explained that Iran’s nuclear facilities were not targeted in the attack but affirmed Iran’s right to defend itself. However, he remarked that any decision on the form of Iran’s response would be up to its leadership.
The ambassador praised Iran’s military strength, especially the Revolutionary Guard, highlighting the nation’s readiness and resilience. He noted that despite the Israeli strikes, daily life in Iran continued as usual, contrasting this with Israeli civilians seeking shelter. This, he argued, highlighted the Iranian public’s calm in the face of external aggression, underscoring their confidence in national defences.
