In a statement on Tuesday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that Hezbollah cannot confront the Israeli occupation alone amid continuing widespread strikes on Lebanon, which have resulted in over 550 deaths. He pointed out that support is being provided by Western nations, including European countries and the United States.
Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran “has never initiated a war in the past century,” but it will not allow any threats to its security and territorial integrity.
Meanwhile, Lebanese Health Minister Firas Al-Abyad reported that the death toll from the Israeli raids in southern and eastern Lebanon has grown to 558, with the majority being civilians, and more than 1,800 people injured—the highest daily toll since the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah.
As the focus of conflict transitions from the Gaza Strip to Lebanon, concerns of a potential regional war continue to escalate.
