Israel-Hamas: Amal Clooney worked for issuance of ICC arrest warrants

The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has been raging since the arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) dropped on him yesterday, Monday, May 21, and his Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The big brother, the USA, also does not get furious. Still, it is simulated anger because this outcome Washington foresaw with all the bombs that it continued to deliver to the IDF, knowing what it was proceeding to do in Gaza. Netanyahu will be even more bitter when he learns that his misfortunes come from the wife of the famous American actor George Clooney. The actor’s lawyer and wife, Amal Clooney, is part of the specialists who whispered in the ear of the intractable ICC prosecutor, Karim Khan.

They are primarily responsible for the arrest warrants issued against Netanyahu, Gallant and the head of the armed wing of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar. The lawyer and human rights activist posted a message on the website of the “Clooney Foundation for Justice”, set up with George Clooney, to clarify that she was contacted “more than four months ago” by the prosecutor of the ICC… He asked her to join a group of experts in international law whose mission was to examine “proof of alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity” committed in Israel and the Gaza Strip.

“Our legal conclusions were unanimous (…). We have unanimously set that there are reasonable grounds to believe that Hamas leaders Yahya Sinouar, Ismaïl Haniyeh and Mohammed Deif have committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, including hostage-taking, assassination and sexual crimes. , said Amal Clooney. “We have unanimously established that there are reasonable grounds to believe that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant have perpetrated war crimes and crimes against humanity, including the use of starvation as a weapon of war, assassination, persecution and extermination,” she mentioned. About the requests for arrest warrants issued yesterday by prosecutor Karim Khan, the Lebanese-British lawyer affirms that she supports this “historic step” to provide “justice to the victims of atrocities in Israel and Palestine”.
