This Sunday, an attack took place near Glilot, north of Tel Aviv, when a truck crashed into a bus stop, injuring 50 individuals, 15 of whom are in critical condition. According to Israeli authorities, the incident could be related to the current wars. The scene prompted a major mobilization of Israeli security forces.
The incident took place near the Glilot military base, near the City cinema. According to information from the Israeli police spokesperson, the truck veered off course and hit a group of people at a bus stop, including soldiers on their way to their military bases. Eyewitnesses reported that several of the injured were Israeli soldiers.
After the collision, the driver of the truck got out of his vehicle armed with a knife. Israeli media reported that police interfered and opened fire on him, without specifying his current condition. A security source quoted by Israeli Army Radio stated the attack appeared to have been carried out “on a national basis,” a term frequently used by Israel when the assailant is suspected of being Palestinian.
The emergency services quickly mobilized and confirmed that they were intervening to treat dozens of injured people. Several victims, trapped under the truck, are said to be in critical condition, according to the daily Yedioth Ahronoth. The Israeli ambulance service is operating to stabilize the injured before transferring them to the nearest hospitals.
