Japanese multinational Mitsui & Co, one of the world’s largest conglomerates operating across a wide range of strategic sectors, has expressed strong interest in the Tunisian market and in establishing partnerships with local companies active in aluminum recycling, agri-food industries, metal industries, and other promising fields.
The Director General of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA), Jalel Tabbib, received on Thursday a delegation from Mitsui composed of Montashir Hussein, representative of the Dubai office, and Kaki Yoshioka, representative of the Casablanca office.
The meeting highlighted the various investment opportunities available in Tunisia and the high-potential sectors of interest.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the Agency, the visit is part of an exploratory mission conducted on November 19 and 20, 2025, aimed at assessing cooperation prospects and identifying potential joint business projects.
This initiative reflects the renewed interest of Asian economic actors in Tunisia and could pave the way for significant investment flows capable of boosting bilateral cooperation and strengthening the country’s economic landscape.
