Jilani Daboussi death case: investigation closed and referred to court

The dean of investigating judges at the Tunis First Instance Court revealed the closure of the investigation into the death of former deputy Jilani Daboussi. The case has been referred to the indictment chamber of the Tunis Court of Appeal, which will rule on the legal proceedings to follow.

The investigation has led to the indictment and issuance of arrest warrants against several people, including a former prison service doctor and a retired judicial officer.

Among the accused are former Minister of Justice and leader of the Ennahdha party, Noureddine Bhiri, as well as Mondher Ounissi, another member of the same party who acted as an advisor at the Ministry of Health.

On the other hand, Abdelatif Mekki, former Minister of Health, has been freed but remains subject to strict preventive measures, including a travel ban and a prohibition from speaking in the media or on social networks.
