Jordan-Earthquakes hit Jordan valley and Palestinian coasts

A magnitude 3.5 earthquake shook Jordan valley on Monday, according to the Jordan Seismological Observatory (JSO) at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

 Head of the Jordanian Earthquake Observatory, Dr. Mahmoud al-Qariuti, said the quake struck the area about 24km west of Irbid governorate, at a depth of 9 km, Roya new agency reported.

He added that the quake was felt by residents of the northwestern regions of the Kingdom, noting that all earthquake monitoring stations of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources recorded it.

A number of Jordanians living in Irbid took to social media platforms and posted that they felt the quake this morning.

The JSO also recorded another earthquake of a magnitude of 2.8 on the Richter scale in the Palestinian coasts at 6:53 am today.

It struck the area about 50 km northwest of the city of Haifa, at a depth of 10 km
