Palestinian journalist Ahmad Mansour was martyred early this Tuesday, succumbing to severe injuries sustained in the Israeli airstrike that targeted a journalists’ tent near the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip, early Monday morning. The same airstrike also resulted in the martyrdom of journalist Hilmi al-Faqawi and youth Yusuf al-Khuzindar, along with several others wounded.
Social media platforms were flooded with waves of rage and sorrow after shocking footage circulated showing the moment when Ahmad Mansour was burned alive during the attack, a crime that shocked public opinion and underscored the ongoing direct targeting of journalists by the Israeli occupation.
Among the journalists injured in the attack were Hassan Aslaieh, Ahmad al-Agha, Muhammad Fayiq, Abdullah al-Attar, Ihab al-Bardini, Mahmoud Awad, Majed Qadiyeh, and Ali Aslaieh, all of whom were in the field documenting the atrocities of the aggression.
The government media office in Gaza announced on Monday that the number of journalists martyred since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, has risen to 210, amid the continued targeting of media crews while covering the events.
