Kamel Madouri officially assumed office as prime minister during a ceremony overseen by the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed. This event marks an important step in the country’s political transition.
Madouri’s appointment follows a government reshuffle, in which he succeeds Ahmed Hachani. Before this appointment, Madouri acted as Minister of Social Affairs since last May, succeeding Malek Ezzahi.
Born on January 25, 1974, in Téboursouk, Kamel Madouri holds a doctorate in European Community law and Maghreb-European relations, as well as a master’s degree in legal sciences from the Faculty of Legal, Political, and Social Sciences of Tunis 2. He has furthermore served as CEO of the National Health Insurance Fund (CNAM) and the National Retirement and Social Insurance Fund (CNRPS).
Under the presidency of Kaïs Saïed, Madouri has been appointed to several strategic positions within the Tunisian administration, including membership in the National Council for Social Dialogue and the vice-presidency of the social protection subcommittee. He is also acknowledged for his academic contributions and publications on health insurance and pension reform.
During the inauguration ceremony, President Saïed stressed the importance of this transition in strengthening Tunisia’s stability and development. He expressed his confidence in Kamel Madouri’s ability to advance governance and improve the country’s economic situation.
