Launch of the 2026–2030 Development Plan for Tunisia’s Fourth Territorial District (Vidéo)

The Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh, chaired on Friday the regional forum marking the launch of the 2026–2030 Development Plan for the Fourth Territorial District. This district encompasses the governorates of Sfax, Sidi Bouzid, Gafsa, and Tozeur.

The forum represents a significant milestone in the new momentum for territorial planning, in line with the provisions of the 2022 Constitution and the new regional division adopted for the upcoming five-year plan.

A New Approach to Planning

In his address, Samir Abdelhafidh emphasized that the forum constitutes “the first concrete exercise within the framework of the new territorial division established by the Constitution.”

He explained that the methodology adopted for the preparation of the 2026–2030 plan is based on an integrated vision aimed at driving regional development, enhancing the efficiency of programs, and ensuring economic and social integration that is both equitable and sustainable.

The objective is clear: to open new horizons for all Tunisians and build a better future.

Stalled Projects a Government Priority

The Minister also addressed the issue of stalled projects, which he described as a “national concern.”

He assured that the government is fully aware of the situation and is determined to resolve it. Significant progress has already been made in unlocking several projects, he stated, although he did not provide specific figures.
