According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Justice, the meeting provided an opportunity to review the depth of the friendship and cooperation relations between Tunisia and the United States.
The two sides also stressed the importance of continuing efforts to strengthen and develop cooperation in the legal and judicial fields in a way that meets the aspirations of both countries.
Cooperation programmes under review
The meeting also addressed a number of issues of common interest, including the progress made in implementing several cooperation programmes in the legal and judicial fields.
The programmes aim to contribute to the development of the judicial, penitentiary and rehabilitation systems.
The discussions also focused on ways to accelerate the implementation of these programmes and further strengthen cooperation between the two sides.
