Libya: When we play with fire… A child devoured by tiger raised by his father!

A 4-year-old child was killed after falling prey to a tiger while walking on his father’s farm in the eastern Libyan town of Ajdabiya in a horrendous incident which sparked widespread controversy concerning the phenomenon of predatory animal breeding in the country. According to details reported by local media, the child approached the tied tiger while he was playing next to his father on the farm, but the tiger assailed him and pounced on him roughly, attempting to devour him, which led to his death.

Following this incident, the Prime Minister-designate of Parliament, Osama Hammad, decided to fully prohibit the keeping of predatory animals and raising them in houses, farms or private places, or letting them roam in the streets for whatever reason.

According to a government press release, the government has declared a maximum period of 15 days to hand over these predatory animals to the Ministry of the Interior, to deposit them in the places designated for them. He also forbade the importation or entry of predatory animals throughout the country, warning those who violate these measures.

This incident sparked widespread controversy on social networks and calls for an end to the breeding of predatory animals in the country.
