Ligue 1 Pro: Espérance saves a point in Sfax, Etoile coasting against USBG

Espérance of Tunis is the uncontested leader with 5 units ahead of the Monastirian dolphin. Esperance made a hit of their journey to the Taïeb Mhiri stadium in Sfax, marking 1-1. The visitors’ equalizer was achieved by Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane (90′ +1) while the locals opened the scoring by Houssem Dagdoug with a direct free kick (31′).

With tension on the shoulders to bring back a positive outcome and assemble the distance from their direct pursuer, the “blood and gold” will still seek to maintain the good atmosphere next week in Monsatir, which has been drawn since last Thursday by overpowering US Ben Guerdane.

On the Sfaxien side, the only good result for Kouki was in particular the win to keep in touch with the higher echelons, knowing that another result would ring his death knell and would take him out of the race for a continental or Arab place.

In the other game of the day in Sousse, Etoile du Sahel beat US Ben Guerdane 3-0, who did not win a match during the play-offs. The starred hat-trick was marked by Iheb Msakni (35′), Raki Aouani (57′) and Mohamed Dhaoui (88′). This second consecutive victory against the red lantern of the play-off, after that obtained in Radès against CA, opens a new cycle for the stars.
