Wildfires fueled by strong Santa Ana winds have led to evacuation orders for 70,000 residents across the Los Angeles area and threatened at least 28,000 structures, officials confirmed to AP on Wednesday. According to official figures, the blaze has already destroyed more than 1,000 buildings and claimed two lives.
The fires, including the Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst fires, are spread across key neighbourhoods such as Pacific Palisades, Pasadena, and the San Fernando Valley. Emergency responders are battling flames fueled by dry conditions and winds reaching up to 80 mph, while widespread power outages affect over 300,000 residents.
