The regional commission tasked with monitoring and overseeing unregulated spaces that receive or host children without the required legal authorizations has decided to close seven childcare spaces in the governorate of Médenine.
These facilities were operating in violation of the applicable legal frameworks, notably without the necessary administrative licenses or compliance with the regulatory specifications governing the sector.
Official meeting at the governorate headquarters
The decision was taken during a commission meeting held on Tuesday at the governorate headquarters, under the supervision of Khamis El Mjahda, Secretary General of the governorate.
The meeting reviewed the situation of several childcare spaces operating outside the legal framework, amid efforts to strengthen monitoring mechanisms and child protection measures.
Review of pending administrative files
In addition to the closure decisions, the commission also agreed to review the cases of other childcare spaces, with a view to enabling them to complete the required administrative procedures in order to regularize their status in accordance with current legislation.
This initiative forms part of a broader policy aimed at ensuring children’s safety, improving the quality of services provided, and combating unregulated practices in the childcare sector, while enforcing strict compliance with legal and organizational standards.
