German Chancellor Angela Merkel affirmed on Thursday that Brussels needs to establish direct contact with Kremlin and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“It is not enough for US President Joe Biden to talk to the Russian president,” the leader noted, asserting that without direct contact with Moscow there is no way to resolve conflicts between the two sides.
