Meteorology: Increase in monthly average of relative humidity in Tunisia in September

The technical report on atmospheric pollution in Tunisia for September 2024 published by the Atmospheric and Maritime Pollution Service under the Directorate of Research and Development in Meteorology indicates that the monthly averages of daily relative humidity measurements registered an increase during September 2024 compared to the month of August.

The values ​​of the monthly average of 58.44٪ and 63.57٪ at 00:00 UT and 44.09٪ and 49.61٪ at 12:00 UT in August and September 2024 respectively. The maximum occurs in the northern regions and the coasts of the country and the minimum is in the southwestern regions.

According to the same report, the monthly averages of daily ground-level air temperature (TT) measurements recorded a decrease during September 2024 compared to the previous month with monthly average values ​​of 27.56 C and 24.95 C at 00:00 UTC and 32.06 C and 28.67 C at noon UTC in August and September 2024 respectively. The maximum emerged in the south of the country and the minimum was in the north and center. Daily measurements by the Sentinel 5P satellite revealed that most daily levels of pollutants (sulfur dioxide (SO2), ozone (O3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and carbon monoxide (CO)) do not exceed the limits specified in Government Order No. 447 of 2018 setting the maximum limits and warning limits for air quality, except gaseous ozone levels, which recorded an increase during the day for this month exceeding the maximum limits on the Tunisian coast.
