Minister of Finance : Tunisia considers issuing an international bond worth 400 million euros

Tunisia’s Minister of Finance, Mechket Slama Khaldi, announced during a joint hearing session of the finance committees of both chambers of Parliament that the government is studying the possibility of issuing an international bond in 2026, valued at 400 million euros, equivalent to approximately 1.375 billion Tunisian dinars.

If approved, this would mark Tunisia’s first bond issuance on global markets since 2019, signaling a potential return to international financing after years of absence caused by economic challenges and restrictive lending conditions.

The minister described this step as a well-considered option, emphasizing that Tunisia reserves the right to reject any terms that do not serve the country’s interests.

This move aims to diversify Tunisia’s sources of budget financing and restore investor confidence in the national economy amid ongoing fiscal and structural reforms.
