The Ministry of Finance has decided to establish new financial offices in order to bring public services closer to citizens and to enhance mechanisms for collecting public revenues in several regions of the country.
To this end, a decree issued by the Minister of Finance and dated 15 January 2026 was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Tunisia. The decree provides for the creation of three new financial offices tasked with exercising all the functions legally assigned to such entities. These new offices will be set up in the governorate of Sfax, specifically the El Griba financial office; in the governorate of Sidi Bouzid, through the Sidi Ali Ben Aoun financial office; and in the governorate of Ariana, with the establishment of the Sidi Thabet financial office.
In the same context, the decision also provides for the creation of a revenue collection center for the proceeds from the sale of specialty products in the governorate of Kasserine. In accordance with Article 2, this center will be primarily responsible for collecting revenues generated from the sale of specialty products (tobacco and fuel) distributed by the distribution centers affiliated with the National Agency for Tobacco and Matches, as well as the Kairouan Tobacco Manufacturing Plant.
This measure forms part of an update to the administrative and accounting organization of public structures under the authority of the Ministry of Finance, in line with the Public Accounting Code and the regulatory texts governing the tobacco sector in Tunisia.
