The Director General of the National Tourism Office (ONTT), Mohamed Mahdi Haloui, stated in an interview with Radio Express FM that over 3 million tourists have visited Tunisia up to May 20, marking a 9.2% increase compared to the previous year. He emphasized that 2025 will be an exceptional year, with a forecast of around 11 million tourists—a target he considers achievable.
Haloui noted significant growth rates in traditional markets, such as France, which experienced a 12% increase, and the United Kingdom, where growth exceeded 60%. Positive indicators were also recorded in the Dutch and Italian markets.
He added that investment intentions in the tourism sector have surpassed 800 million dinars, reflecting renewed confidence in the industry and a rebound in foreign investments.
