Nineteen people lost their lives and sixteen others were injured — with varying degrees of severity — when two adjoining four-storey residential buildings collapsed on Wednesday night in the Al Massira district of Fez. The two buildings were home to eight families.
The Al Massira neighborhood, located in the Zouagha district, experienced a tragic night marked by the sudden collapse of the two structures.
Rescue, civil protection, and police teams were immediately dispatched to the scene to carry out search operations under the rubble. Security measures were implemented to cordon off the area and evacuate residents from nearby houses as a precautionary step to ensure their safety.
