Moroccan authorities handed over a Palestinian young man to Israel after his detention in 2023 in Rabat based on an arrest warrant issued by Israeli occupation authorities.
The Israeli police stated: “Moroccan authorities handed over Naseem Khalibat to Tel Aviv, the suspect in placing an explosive device near the Ministry of Health offices in Nazareth in 2021.”
Khalibat had escaped from the occupied Palestinian territories in March 2022 using an Israeli passport, following the bombing that caused significant damage.
The statement indicated that the arrest and extradition of the Palestinian young man is the first of its kind for the Israeli police.
The incident dates back to late 2021, when Naseem Khalibat, along with two individuals, one of whom was a relative, planned to blow up a health office building in Nazareth.
According to the Israeli narrative, the perpetrators of the attack managed to escape after planting and remotely detonating the bomb, causing the building’s facade to be destroyed. Inquiries, according to the French newspaper “Jeune Afrique,” led to the arrest of “Ali” and “Jafar” on March 8, 2022, while Naseem fled on March 9 to Dubai, then to Turkey, and eventually to Morocco, where he was apprehended at Marrakech airport in 2023 based on an Interpol Red Notice and an international search warrant issued by Israeli authorities.
The “Moroccan Coalition for Human Rights Organizations” sent a letter to Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, requesting urgent intervention to prevent the extradition of the Palestinian citizen to the occupation authorities.
