The National Bar Association of Tunisia announced, this Wednesday, September 11, 2024, a series of demonstration movements aimed at denouncing the “restrictions inflicted on lawyers in the exercise of their functions”. These protest actions will start on September 16, 2024 and will last until September 20, 2024, with the symbolic wearing of red headbands by Tunisian lawyers.
The Bar Association has also decided on a series of demonstrations scheduled for September 18 in front of the Justice Palace as well as in front of the courts of first instance across the country.
In addition to the protests, the Bar Association has also announced a boycott of requisitions and legal aid throughout the week of protest.
The purpose of these demonstrations is to have a rapid response to the professional demands of lawyers.
