The island of Djerba has welcomed a special guest: Franco-Algerian gymnastics champion Kaylia Nemour, who won the first Arab gold medal at the Paris Olympic Games. The 17-year-old athlete has chosen this idyllic location for her holiday retreat. Her warm reception at a local hotel was nothing short of incredible.
A heartfelt message from the hotel management awaited the young gymnast in her room. “To Kaylia. Congratulations, Champion. We are happy to welcome you to Djerba. We hope you have a wonderful holiday,” read the note, which Kaylia shared in a video on her Instagram account. The post was accompanied by stunning images of Djerba’s beaches and the hotel’s swimming pool, serving as a wonderful advertisement for the island’s enchanting scenery.
Kaylia Nemour was born in December 2006 in France to an Algerian father and a French mother. She started gymnastics at 4 and accumulated numerous titles before achieving Olympic gold at the Paris Games (July 26 to August 11, 2024).
