Parliament Submits 103 Written Questions to the Government and Reaffirms National Commitment

The Bureau of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People met today, Thursday, to discuss the written questions submitted by the deputies to government members. According to a statement from the Assembly, it was decided to refer 103 written questions to the relevant government ministers.

The Bureau also examined the topics for the general debate during the upcoming plenary session, which will be dedicated to dialogue with the Minister of State Property and Real Estate Affairs, scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, 2025. Additionally, several issues related to the international activity of the Parliament were discussed.

On this occasion, the President of the Assembly, Ibrahim Bouderbala, highlighted the remarks made by the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, during his meeting on Wednesday at the Carthage Palace with the Presidents of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People and the National Council for Regions and Districts. The President emphasized “relying on the legislative function of both chambers, which must, now more than ever, in this critical time the country is going through, be ready to defend the homeland and protect Tunisia’s achievements, interests, and national sovereignty with a sense of responsibility.”

Ibrahim Bouderbala also stated that he conveyed to the President of the Republic “the full readiness of all the deputies to fulfill their duties to the best of their ability.” He emphasized “the patriotism and unwavering determination of the deputies to defend the country and the national process with steadfastness, embodying the role of the legislative institution, especially in conveying the concerns and aspirations of the citizens,” according to the Assembly’s statement.

The Bureau members, for their part, reiterated “the significant responsibility entrusted to the deputies, in light of the trust placed by the President of the Republic in the parliamentary institution.” They expressed their readiness to continue fulfilling their duties in accordance with the constitutional provisions.

They also raised several issues regarding the facilitation of their work and the enhancement of cooperation and communication between the legislative and executive branches, with the aim of achieving the nation’s overall goals.
